Become An Educator

If you enjoy the company of children and want to make a difference in their lives, and in our society's future, by providing quality care and learning experiences from your own home, then family day care may be the right career choice for you.

Operating a Family Day Care business gives you a unique opportunity to work from home as your own boss, choosing the hours you work, and potentially earning a very good income.

Our coordinators are here to advise you and help you through every step of the process, not just while you are setting up, but also when your business is up and running. An educator must hold an early childhood qualification such as a Certificate III in Children's Services or higher, or be willing to study. It is a requirement that all educators hold or are working towards obtaining a minimum of Certificate III in Children's Services.

We are looking to provide Family Day Care in all the areas of our service and we would be only too happy to talk with you.

Rose:

Since becoming a family day care educator in January 2008 I can honestly say the satisfaction I have gained from family day care has been immense.

Having supported lots of children in their journey of early childhood is something I consider a privilege. It’s also provided a unique opportunity to form meaningful, positive connections with families within my community.

Being a family day care educator has enabled me to play a very active role in my own children’s lives on a daily basis by being at home with them whilst having the ability to earn a decent income.

Working from home can sometimes make people feel isolated however I know I have support from co educators and a great co-ordination team, not to mention the fun that is always being had with the gorgeous little people that fill my day!

Having professional, extremely knowledgeable co-ordinators providing amazing support and guidance over the years is what has allowed me to continue to provide a high quality service to my community.

I am thankful for becoming a family day care educator as the learning opportunities and memories gained (and will hopefully continue to experience) have all been well worth the journey that is FDC.
